Sell a used gas turbine.
For owners of aeroderivative and frame turbines that are on standby, retired or never installed.
If you own a gas turbine you aren't running, a broker can take it to buyers who need power now, keep your name private until you sign, and is paid only when it sells.
How selling works
- 01A short call about the unit, its records and why it's idle.
- 02A fee agreement before any buyer hears your name or site.
- 03A summary to buyers who fit: type, size, year, condition and state.
- 04Inspection and contract with the buyer you choose. Our fee is paid at close.
What affects the price
No two units sell the same. These are the things a buyer's inspector looks at first.
- Hours and starts
Fewer since the last overhaul is worth more.
- Overhaul history
When the last hot section inspection or major overhaul was done, and by whom.
- Records
Complete OEM records make buyers confident. Gaps cost money.
- Preservation
How it was laid up after shutdown, and whether that was logged.
- What's included
Generator, controls and a step-up transformer sell as a package.
- Location and removal
How easy it is to get out, and any deadline on the site.
What to have ready
- Make, model and serial numbers of the turbine and generator
- Operating hours, starts and the date of the last major overhaul
- OEM maintenance records and recent borescope reports
- How it was laid up after shutdown, and where it sits now
- What sells with it: controls, step-up transformer, emissions equipment
- Any site deadline for removal
Tell us about your turbine
Your name and site stay private until you've signed a fee agreement.
Questions
Can I sell a unit held for grid reliability?
Usually not until the grid operator releases it from service. Some operators need at least 90 days' notice and can hold a unit longer. We check this on the first call.
Do I need complete records?
No, but they help. Without records, buyers price in the risk. We'll tell you which gaps matter most.
Who removes the turbine?
That's agreed in the contract. Often the buyer arranges removal, and the site deadline shapes the price.
What does it cost me?
Success fee, paid at close, nothing up front. The fee is set in a written agreement before any introduction, and that agreement names who pays it. On most of our deals it is the buyer.
